What is spirulina?

Spirulina is a blue-green algae named after its spiral shape.  It contains the necessary nutrients in more remarkable concentrations than foods, plants, grains or herbs.

What does spirulina contain?

Most protein based foods, more than 60% digestible, contain plant protein.  Spirulina is packed with special phytonutrients such as phycocyanin, polysaccharides and sulfoxides that support the immune system, with a good chance of reducing the risk of infections, cancer and autoimmune diseases.  It is rich in natural carotenoids, antioxidants, which promotes cell health and can reduce the development of cancer.  It contains chlorophyll, which helps detoxify the body.

Is spirulina safe algae?

Spirulina is very special among blue-green algae as it has a very long history of safe use.  It was consumed by the Aztecs in present-day Mexico as early as five hundred years ago.  Over the past 20 years, millions of people around the world have enjoyed it as a safe dietary supplement.  The United Nations and the World Health Organization (WHO) also recommend Spirulina as a safe and nutritious food for children.

How does spirulina have positive effects to the human body??

How does spirulina strengthen the immune system?
